4th.---That provision has been made for the due execution of Mr. Thomsett's Office during his absence by the appointment of Robert Clannah Camino Lord Kimberly the Government Marine Surveyor.

Leave now granted this: Vacation Leave on full Pay from the 13th April to the 12th August 1871, and 8 months Leave of absence on half Salary from the 13th August 1871 to the 12th April 1872.N.B.-Leave of Absence beyond 1/6th of Resident Service will not be granted by the Secretary of State except on Medical Certificate from the Medical Officer employed by the Colonial Office, or on urgent private affairs, the nature of which must be stated and must be satisfactory to the Secretary of State.
